Gresham’s Alta Civic Station to Hold Ground Breaking Ceremony

Approved by the Gresham Design Commission in January, the Alta Civic Station is expecting to have its groundbreaking ceremony soon.

Consisting of eight buildings, the Station will be home to 318 apartments, a 12,350 square foot commercial floor area, and a 21,000 square foot privately owned, yet publicly accessible plaza. The hope is that the additions will bring vibrancy to the Gresham location.

The apartments offered will include choices between studios, 2-bedroom, or 3-bedroom units, some on the ground floor, others town-home style. Amenities will include a community room with kitchen and social areas, a fitness center, a secure package room, and a meeting area.

The plaza will house a playground, recreation area, and outdoor dining space for restaurants. It is hoped that the plaza, which will be located near the MAX station, will be a community gathering area.

In addition to the buildings already planned, an application has been submitted for development to the south of the Civic Drive MAX station. The application proposes five mixed-use buildings that would add 435 mixed-income apartments as well as 9,900 of commercial space and an underground parking structure.

The Alta Civic Station is expected to reach completion in 2021.
