Their Best-Kept Secret

A video posted by the Trade Group, suggests that the private conversations you have while touring a home, are not always so private. According to Attorney Annie Fitzsimmons, lots of sellers put up “nanny cams” to gain the upper hand in a negotiation.  And if they weren’t they probably will now that the video has gone viral…

Oregon states that all participants must be specifically informed, BUT exempts residents recording within their own home. And though it’s entirely illegal in some states, such as our neighbor Washington, that doesn’t mean you are safe; it’s unlikely anyone would ever find out so sellers still take this risk.  Buyers must assume that every conversation is recorded, and share any sensitive information for later!
